ASELAM is made up of six companies: Aludium, Ucin Aluminio, Gradhermetic, Alumasa, Baux, and Iberfoil, which together represent the entirety of Spain’s aluminium rolling production, with 500,000 tonnes per year—equivalent to 10% of total European production. Of this volume, 40% (around 200,000 tonnes) is exported, while the remaining 300,000 tonnes are supplied to the domestic market.

The analysis of per capita rolled aluminium consumption also provides a valuable perspective on the level of economic growth and development of nations. Currently, it stands at 10.5 kilograms per person in Spain, while in countries such as the United States and Germany—global leaders—it rises to 30 and 40 kilograms per inhabitant per year, respectively. At the European level, Spain ranks third as a manufacturer of transformed aluminium products, behind only Germany and Italy.
